Virat Kohli hugs emotional Steve Smith after India’s win over Australia in CT semifinals

Virat Kohli and Steve Smith shared an emotional hug after India defeated Australia in the Champions Trophy 2025 semifinal.

India took perfect revenge for the ODI World Cup 2023 final after beating Australia by 4 wickets in the semifinals of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on Tuesday. Virat Kohli played a big role in the match, smashing 86 runs to lead his team in a strong position, which helped India win the match. He received player of the match as well. After the match, two of the greatest batters of this era, Virat Kohli and Australia’s captain Steve Smith were seen hugging each other.

In all of these occasions, Smith’s team has achieved success, but this time it was Virat Kohli, who enjoyed the taste of win against Australia. This match in the Champions Trophy again showed their class as both players emerged as the top scorers for their respective teams in the clash. For Australia, Steve Smith scored the most runs with 73 off 96 balls.

In reply, Virat Kohli impressed everyone with his 84-run innings as India beat Australia by 4 wickets in the first semifinal of the Champions Trophy in Dubai on Tuesday. Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, India successfully chased down the target of 265 runs in 48.1 overs. Along with Kohli, Shreyas Iyer scored a valuable 45, KL Rahul remained not out with 42, and Hardik Pandya contributed 28 runs. Now, India will face the winner of the South Africa vs New Zealand match in the final.
