Velocity might have been chasing a record target of 191, all they needed was to cross 158 to book a place in the final. Shafali Varma and Yastika Bhatia provided them with a flying start. Although Bhatia was dismissed for 19 in the 4th over, Kiran Navgire kept hammering the Trailblazers bowlers.
Navgire smashed the fastest fifty of the Women’s T20 Challenge in just 25 balls. That provided Velocity the platform. While they were all set to chase down the 191 target, Velocity lost quick wickets in the middle overs. Once Navgire was dismissed by Sophia Dunkley in the 17th over, their hopes of chasing the 191 target also vanished.

However, since they already scored the required 159 runs, Velocity booked their place in the WT20 Challenge Final. In the end, Velocity could only score 174/9 in 20 overs.
Earlier, sent to bat, Trailblazers went all guns blazing. Sabbhineni Meghana smashed 47-ball 73 while Jemimah Rodrigues hammered 44-ball 66 to take Trailblazers to 190/5, which is the highest score of Women’s T20 Challenge.
Trailblazers lost Smriti Mandhana in the third over. But debutant Meghana and Jemima Rodrigues did not bother. They kept on going against Velocity bowlers, stitching together a 113-run stand for the 2nd wicket.

While Sneh Rana removed Meghana in the 15th over and Ayabonga Khaka removed Rodrigues in the 17th over, Hayley Matthews and Sophia Dunkley took on Simran Bahadur at the death to take Trailblazers to 190/5. Trailblazers will have to win by 32 runs or more to qualify for the final.
