West Indies batters came and went in no time as Pakistan registered a victory in the first Test against the Caribbean team. The hosts secured a convincing 127-run win in Multan, which was expected. However, there was a shock as West Indies removed the top 5 batters of Pakistan on day 1 and also dismissed the team for 230 runs. But the spin heroes, Nauman Ali and Sajid Khan, did what they did in the last England series—they did it once again. In the first innings, they combined to pick 9 wickets on the Multan surface.
In the second innings, along with Sajid Khan, it was Abrar Ahmed, who removed the West Indies for 123 runs while chasing 251. Although Pakistan’s batting didn’t improve fully, apart from Saud Shakeel and Mohammed Rizwan’s fight in the 1st innings, the team got bundled out for 157 in the second innings. However, their bowling helped the team get back on track. While this win may not significantly impact Pakistan’s position in the WTC table as the finalists have already been decided, take a look at the WTC points table after the PAK vs WI 1st Test.
