Unmukt Chand off the crease, onto the mic: U19 WC winner joins BBL commentary box

Unmukt Chand off the crease, onto the mic: U19 WC winner joins BBL commentary box

Unmukt Chand was the first Indian player to participate in the Big Bash League in 2022.

Unmukt Chand has decided to branch out and become a cricket commentator. The Indian-turned-USA cricketer had incredible success in the early stages of his career and helped India lift the U19 World Cup in 2012. However, things did not pan out well for him, with consistent failures in domestic and franchise cricket.

Now, Unmukt Chand has decided to join the Big Bash League (BBL) as a Hindi commentator. Interestingly, Unmukt was also the first Indian to play in the league in 2022. However, his BBL career was a short one, which saw him play just two matches for the Melbourne Renegades.

Unmukt Chand had announced his retirement from Indian cricket in 2021. Since then, he has moved to the USA, and he has been part of the Minor League Cricket, Major League Cricket, the BBL, and the Bangladesh Premier League.

Commentary: Nothing new for Unmukt Chand

Unmukt already has ample experience in the commentary box. The 30-year-old was part of the commentary panel in the 2020 U19 World Cup Finals and has also previously worked in Hindi for the Star Sports Network in the Caribbean Premier League.
