The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly asked KL Rahul to participate in IND vs ENG ODIs. Earlier, reports had claimed that the keeper-batter was likely to be rested for the series but was guaranteed a spot in India’s ICC Champions Trophy squad. However, the team management seem to have changed their decision now.
BCCI wants KL Rahul to play IND vs ENG ODI series
As per Times of India, the BCCI has asked KL Rahul to play in the three-match series that begins from February 3. The Karnataka batter was supposed to be rested after a gruelling Test schedule that ended with the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. While he opted out of Karnataka’s Vijay Hazare Trophy knockout matches requesting some rest after IND vs AUS Test series, he might be in action sooner than expected. The three-match ODI series against England will be the warm-up stage for India before heading into Champions Trophy 2025.
