Trying to play positive cricket: Yashasvi Jaiswal emphasises on importance of positive play to beat England

Yashasvi Jaiswal narrowly missed out on a century at home soil. But the young opener claimed that the team aims to play positive cricket and he wanted to do the same. Jaiswal as no regrets of missing out on his century. He claims that the aim for the team is take a good lead into the game.

India ended Day 2 with a lead of 175 runs. Ravindra Jadeja remains unbeaten on 81. Earlier in the day both Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul missed out in scoring tons.

“We always trying to play positive cricket. I am also trying the same. I want to stay positive and play good shots. I fell the more runs we accumulate , it is better for our team. We aim to take a good lead into the game,” said in the Press Conference after stumps on Day 2.

“The wicket is quite spinning at the moment. There is some help for the spinners. I was thinking to contribute well for the team,” he concluded.

India will look to pile on their lead into the game. The plan for the hosts will be to bat in the early phase of Day 3, and then put England to bat again. Team India will hope to finish the game on Day 3 with the pitch turning slow and spinning a lot. Ashwin, Jadeja and Axar will a treat against the Three Lions.
