Trust Pat Cummins to win IPL 2024 because he knows ‘how to keep dressing room running’

Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2024 Final at the iconic Chepauk Stadium

The 17th season of the Indian Premier League has reached its zenith with the IPL 2024 Final. Sunrisers Hyderabad is set to take on Kolkata Knight Riders at the iconic Chepauk Stadium on Sunday. Sunrisers Hyderabad have been a power to be reckoned with this season and ahead of the much-awaited game, India star Suresh Raina has credited captain Pat Cummins’ dressing roam approach for the team’s stellar run in 2024.

“The key point for SRH is Pat Cummins who has already won the World Cup, he knows how to keep the dressing room running. You follow the process, you are switched on for the finals, the players know their roles, and everything will be organized,” said Suresh Raina speaking to JioCinema.

Cummins joined Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) with a hefty price tag of 20.5 crore rupees and was immediately tasked with leading the team. His impact was swift and transformative, turning around a team that finished last in the previous tournament.

Pat Cummins’ transformation of Sunrisers Hyderabad

Under his captaincy, SRH has adopted an explosive style of cricket that has left a mark on the IPL. The team twice set the record for the highest innings score in tournament history, thanks to the dynamic opening pair of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma.

“Sunrisers should back their batting-first approach and put runs on the board, but the eight overs of spin will be crucial. With KKR having won an IPL in Chennai, the pressure will be different,” he added.

What stands in the way of Pat Cummins' Sunrisers Hyderabad and the IPL 2024 trophy, apart from the Kolkata Knight Riders, of course?

Beyond their powerful batting, SRH’s bowling attack has also thrived under Cummins’ leadership. With T Natarajan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar providing crucial breakthroughs, the team has been formidable. While spin was initially seen as a weak spot, Shahbaz Ahmed and Abhishek Sharma delivered exceptional performances, particularly against the Rajasthan Royals, to secure their spot in the final.

Cummins has not only reinvigorated SRH but also showcased his growing prowess as a leader. As the IPL final approaches, his team is firing on all cylinders, ready to contend for the coveted title.
