Travis Head wins over Mohammed Shami again, bags ICC Player of the Month

Travis Head bags the ICC Player of the Month award for November after World Cup final heroics.

If the World Cup final was not enough, Australian opener Travis Head has once again bossed over Mohammed Shami. This time, he has left Shami behind to bag the ICC Player of the Month award for November. He also pipped Australian teammate Glenn Maxwell.

Travis Head was standout player in the final, slamming a century to guide Australia to their sixth World Cup trophy against hot favourites India on Nov 19.

“It’s been an incredible 12 months for the team which it has been a real privilege to be a part of. The way we have navigated a home summer, away trips to India, England, South Africa, India and the World Cup has been great credit to Pat, the players and the staff,” Travis Head said.

Travis Head had almost missed the World Cup having suffered a hand injury. However, despite knowing that he would miss half of the tournament, Australia kept him in the team.

And he repaid the faith. Travis Head finished with 329 runs in six innings at an average of 54.83.
