Top overseas stars who will play in IPL for the first time

With the Indian Premier League 2025 set to start soon, take a look at the top foreign players who will be making their IPL debut.

Several players are set to make their IPL debut, and they will be eager to perform well as IPL 2025 is not far away. The tournament is set to start on March 22 and will run until May 25, with the caravan moving across 13 venues.

Speaking of some foreign players, there is no doubt that they will look to do good, as their presence adds solidity to the team alongside superstar Indian players, creating a deadly combination. In the past, many overseas players have delivered outstanding performances in the IPL, and now, quite a few are set to make their debut.

Although the list is fairly long, three top overseas players are currently the talk of the town, as they are expected to make a strong impact in their first IPL season. Take a look at these three big names set to make their IPL debut.

Josh Inglis

Australian superstar batter Josh Inglis is set to make his IPL debut. The 30-year-old wicketkeeper-batter performed exceptionally well in the recently held Champions Trophy, especially his century against England, which grabbed attention. He has consistently delivered for Australia and is one of the four Australian players to have scored a hundred in all three formats.

Most interestingly, Inglis has also won all three major ICC titles, from the 2021 T20 World Cup to the 2023 WTC and the ODI World Cup. With high expectations on his shoulders, Punjab Kings, who secured this superstar, will be hoping he delivers for the team.

Ryan Rickelton

A quality wicketkeeper-batter, Ryan Rickelton from South Africa, is set to light up the stage in IPL 2025. Mumbai Indians signed him for Rs 1 crore, and there is a strong chance he will open alongside Rohit Sharma. It will be highly interesting to see how he performs in the upcoming IPL.

Rickelton is known for his aggressive batting in the first six overs, putting bowlers under pressure. MI will expect him to do the same as they back this emerging talent, who was secured for Rs 1 crore.

Jacob Bethell

Jacob Bethell, who recently recovered from a hamstring injury, is now available for RCB in IPL 2025. His injury was the reason he missed the Champions Trophy 2025, but things seem to be improving. RCB’s new signee will be eager to make his mark.

The 21-year-old cricketer has already debuted in all three formats and has performed exceptionally well. While his recent outings against India didn’t go as planned, no one can deny how impressive a batter he is. Now, Bethell is set to make his IPL debut.
