“This is my ground”: Son of soil KL Rahul after owning RCB and Chinnaswamy

KL Rahul played an unbeaten 93-run knock, steering Delhi Capitals to their 4th successive win in IPL 2025

KL Rahul played a sublime knock on his homecoming as DC thrashed RCB at the M Chinnaswamy stadium on Thursday. The Karnataka batter, who was ignored by RCB in the IPL 2025 mega auction, has been in the form of his life. He wasted no time in punishing RCB at their home ground, which also happens to be his, with an unbeaten 93-run knock that powered DC to a 6-wicket win.

“Know this better than anybody else”

Speaking at the post-match presentation, Rahul said that he knew the M Chinnaswamy stadium better than anybody else. After going on the aggressive with his boundary-hitting spree as an opener in the previous game, the batter resorted to his old role of playing the anchor.

This is my ground, this is my home. I know this better than anybody else. Enjoyed playing here,” Rahul said.

Rahul finished the game off for DC in style with a six. The local lad then raised his bat like a sword, thumped his chest, and pointed to the ground—as if to say, this is still my turf. At his home ground, Rahul delivered a statement knock for the ages.

Rahul slays RCB

KL Rahul walked in with DC reeling at 10 for 2 in pursuit of 164. The crowd expected an RCB win—but Rahul had other plans. Anchoring the innings through singles and calculated stroke play, he played the situation perfectly before exploding late in the chase.

With 54 needed off the last five, Rahul targeted Josh Hazlewood in the 16th over, smashing 22 runs and tilting the game decisively.
