Team India moves to top of points table in WTC 2023-25
India's PCT is better than second placed Australia in WTC 2023-25 Points table

Team India: With a thumping innings and 141 victory in the first Test against West Indies, India have moved to the top of the points table in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Points Table for 2023-25 cycle. Rohit Sharma & Co have moved past Australia in the points table and now have 12 points with 100% Points won by a team contested (PCT). While Australia’s points are 22, they have a PCT of 61.11%.
England are third on the points table with 10 points, while West Indies are placed fourth with zero points.

India began the WTC 2023-25 cycle on a winning note and yet again showed their class with bat and ball. Ravichandran Ashwin and Yashasvi Jaiswal were the star performers for the visitors, with 12 wickets and 171 respectively. India have a solid chance to consolidate their position at the top by winning another Test match against the Windies starting from July 20.

With the match finishing in three days, India have got two days rest before their focus shifts to the second Test, which is due to start on July 20. Rohit Sharma & Co ticked a lot of boxes, with the biggest positive being Jaiswal’s flying start to the Test career. The southpaw looked at ease and adapted nicely to the dry Dominica surface. Skipper Rohit also got back amongst runs by scoring a sublime hundred.

Ashwin showed his class with two five-wicket hauls, and the rest of the bowlers, like Jadeja, Siraj, and Unadkat supported him well. Shubman Gill’s failure at number three was only one of the drawbacks of India’s thumping win in the first Test. The right-hand batter scored only 6 runs. However, the 22-year-old has made his intentions clear of batting at number three and consolidating the position.
