Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli once again showed why is one of the best batters going around. The right-handed batter smashed a fifty in the IND vs AUS World Cup clash in Chennai on Sunday. Kohli alongside KL Rahul stitched a match-winning partnership for the home side after the top-order was brushed aside by the Aussie pacers.

During his innings against Australia, the right-handed batter also became the fastest batter to achieve 11,000 runs at number 3 position in the 50-over format. He surpassed former Aussie skipper Ricky Ponting. To note the Australian veteran had amassed 12,662 runs in 330 innings at number 3 position. Kohli has scored 11,000 runs while playing at that spot in 215 innings.
During his innings, Kohli never looked in trouble as he tackled the pace trio of Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins. Not only pace, the right-handed batter also bossed against his arch-rival from Australia Adam Zampa. Not only Kohli, Rahul also had the Aussies sweating as he also completed a fine fifty.
