While chasing 177 against Pakistan, Australia had one of the worst starts as they lost skipper Aaron Finch, Mitchell Marsh, and Steve Smith early in the run chase. David Warner, however, held the one end firmly and did some counter, keeping the hopes alive for the Aussies till the halfway mark.

However, Australia’s hopes took a major blow when David Warner was adjudged caught behind on the score of 49. The matter even got worse when the action replay of Warner’s dismissal showed that he hadn’t actually nicked the ball. Soon speculations began what if Australia loses the game & why David Warner didn’t take a review?

Speaking about the same, Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar spoke about Warner’s dismissal on a Facebook video. He also tried to give a valid reason on what might have resulted in David Warner not reviewing the decision.

“His dismissal was surprising. Everyone had appealed, and even the umpire gave him out,” Tendulkar said.

“Sometimes, batter nicks the ball and he doesn’t realise it, sometimes there is no nick but batter walks after the strong reactions from opponents and the umpire.

“I think that was the case with Warner. But it was surprising when I saw the action replay,” Tendulkar added.

Earlier, Warner’s teammate Matthew Wade had revealed what exactly had happened during that delivery.

“Yeah, we haven’t had too much time to chat about it, just passing comments… I think there was a noise. He (Warner) wasn’t sure, maybe his bat handle clicked or his hand on his bat. He didn’t think that he hit it but I think Glenn at the other end heard the noise and to be fair that out there, that was the only thing that could have been so he was potentially thinking that he (Warner) might have hit it. It’s really tough in those situations. How many times do you see a batter think that they haven’t hit it and they have?”, Wade said after the match.
