  • There are two groups in round 1 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
  • A total of 12 matches will take place during round 1.
  • The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super 12 stage.
  • Live streaming will be available on the Disney+Hotstar app and website.

Eight teams who did not automatically qualify for the Super 12s (Sri Lanka, West Indies, Namibia, Netherlands, UAE, Scotland, Ireland, and Zimbabwe) will compete in Round 1, divided into two groups of four. Prior to the top two teams from each group advancing to the Super 12, the other teams in Round 1 will be eliminated. Each team in Round 1 will play each other once in their group. Kardinia Park in Geelong and Blundstone Arena in Hobart will host all of the games in this round.

Group A: Namibia, Netherlands, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates

Group B: Ireland, Scotland, West Indies, Zimbabwe

The four Round 1 qualifiers will join the eight teams who had received automatic qualification for the Super 12s from the 2021 edition held in the UAE in November of last year. The top two teams from each group advance to the semi-finals after this stage, during which each team plays the other teams in their group once.
