Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy: Vidarbha beat Rajasthan by 9 wickets: Vidarbha continued their impressive run in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021 as they beat Rajasthan by 9 wickets in the quarterfinals. The Vidarbha batsmen didn’t require enough effort to chase the target of 85 with five overs to spare, while the bowlers did a brilliant task to stop the Rajasthan innings to a mere 84 runs. After opting to bowl first, Vidarbha have given enough justice to their bowling. In the first five overs, they bagged five wickets in just 18 runs. The top batsmen like Deepak Hooda and Mahipal Lamror succumbed to the bowling attack of Vidarbha. Bowlers didn’t leave no room for Rajasthan batsman to score big runs. Deepak Hooda was the biggest threat to the Vidarbha side but Yash Thakur did not let Hooda last long and got him cheaply (for 3 runs).
Akshay Karnewar showed his magic once again as he conceded only 7 runs and picked a wicket in four overs, While Yash Thakur scalped two wickets. Darshan Nalkande, Lalit M Yadav, Akshay Wakhare and Atharva Taide scalped one wicket each.

Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy: Vidarbha beat Rajasthan by 9 wickets: In response to the low target of 85, Vidarbha decided to take slow than rather chasing the target in hurry. Ganesh Satish and Atharva Taide shared a decent partnership stand of 63 runs. Taide yet again put up decent performance, scoring 40* off 42 balls. Atharva Taide shared 24-run stand with Akshay Wadkar to chase the target. Their partnership were crucial in helping Vidarbha reach the quarterfinals.
Rajasthan didn’t go wicket less as Aniket Choudhary scalped only wicket for the team and conceded just 8 runs in two overs. Skipper Mahipal Lamror conceded 22 runs in 2.5 overs, while Ravi Bishnoi conceded 26 runs in four overs.
