At the start of 2025, SKY managed to score just 28 runs against England in five matches, boasting of a highest score of 14 runs. While he did show promising signs after amassing 717 runs for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025, he simply failed to fire in international fixtures once again post the tournament.

At Asia Cup 2025, he scored just 65 runs throughout the tournament, with a highest score of 47 that came against in the league stage game on September 14. The last time that SKY scored a half-century was way back in October 2024.

In the series against Australia, he has managed to register scores of 39*, 1, 24 and 20 in 4 T20Is. Although he got off to a good and aggressive start in the 4th T20I in Queensland, he was dismissed for just 20 runs. With the T20 World Cup 2026 just a few months away, time is running out for Suryakumar to redeem himself and keep his spot in the playing XI.
