Tense moments and flaring tempers are a common sight when India take on Pakistan at ICC or ACC events. Sledging has always been evident between members of both teams in the past and has defined the rivalry. However, that wasn’t the case on Sunday during the IND vs PAK clash at the T20 World Cup 2026, where India emerged victorious by 61 runs. And the mastermind behind this was none other than captain Suryakumar Yadav.
Suryakumar Yadav’s no sledging diktat
In a video released by the BCCI following India’s win in Colombo, Suryakumar is heard addressing the Indian huddle wherein he instructs the players to not tell anyone anything and to just keep running between the overs. He says that India will win the game through good skill and by playing good cricket, indicating that there was no need for players to have any sort of exchanges with Pakistan whatsoever.
“Keep running between the overs. Don’t say anything to anyone — we have to play good cricket. We will win this game through good skill,” Suryakumar Yadav is heard telling the team.
Salman Ali Agha and co. were no match as Suryakumar Yadav and co. completed an easy win in the IND vs PAK contest to qualify for the Super 8 stage. The loss comes after Pakistan’s antics over not wanting to play against India and it taking the ICC a couple of weeks of convincing and a meeting to break the deadlock and ask them to take the field. Well, Pakistan could have might as well not played against India, rather than losing in such miserable fashion.
PAK, who last managed to beat India way back in 2021 in Dubai, continued to pile misery on their heads, with their batting unit completely failing to fire against a flawless Indian bowling unit.
