The New Zealand cricket team is having an unfair advantage. They probably have a glue on their hands because no way a team pulls off multiple spectacular catches in a single game. India have been stunned in the ICC Champions Trophy encounter in Dubai. After Glenn Phillips’ stunner to send back Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson defied his age to pluck a blinder to dismiss Ravindra Jadeja.
Watch: Kane Williamson’s catch to dismiss Jadeja
What a catch it was! Kane Williamson pulled off an absolute stunner to send Ravindra Jadeja packing. Matt Henry bowled a decent delivery, but Jadeja thought he’d take advantage of the width and cut it hard. Unfortunately for him, Williamson was lurking at backward point, and he swooped in like a hawk to grab the catch. The ball was dying on him, but Williamson’s athleticism and reflexes allowed him to snag it with his left hand, his non-dominant hand. Jadeja was looking good, but India lost a wicket at a crucial time.
Thanks to Hardik Pandya’s brilliance (45 off 45), India didn’t badly miss Jadeja at the death. The pace bowling all-rounder hammered lusty blows, four boundaries and two sixes, to take India to a fighting total of 249.
