SRH have named Harsh Dubey as replacement for Smaran Ravichandran

Sunrisers Hyderabad have named Harsh Dubey as an injury replacement for Smaran Ravichandran. Incidentally, the Karnataka batter himself came into the side as a replacement for Australia’s Adam Zampa. SRH are currently 9th on the standings with just six points from 3 wins in IPL 2025 so far.

SRH announce injury replacement for Smaran

Dubey will join SRH for a price of Rs 30 lakhs. The all-rounder and plays for Vidarbha in Domestic Cricket, has 127 wickets and 941 runs against his name from 16 T20s, 20 List A and 18 First-Class matches he has played. He finished as the leading wicket taker in Ranji Trophy 2024/25 with 69 wickets from 10 matches.

Zampa was forced to leave IPL 2025 even before the halfway stage of the tournament. An injury forced the spinner to return to Australia, resulting in Smaran being named as his replacement. However, the Karnataka batter did not play a single game for SRH and warmed the bench throughout.

Smaran was exceptional in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2024-25 season. The southpaw scored 170 runs at 34 in 6 matches. Although he hit just one half-century, the lefty batter struck at 170 for Karnataka.

The left-hander was called for a trial by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in March, a few days before the IPL 2025 season started. But things didn’t pan out as Smaran would have wanted. Luckily, he’s found himself at SRH and will get his first experience in the league.
