SLK beat GUY in CPL 2021: Roston Chase’s 85 guides St Lucia Kings to 51 runs win over Guyana Amazon Warriors: Bottom-placed St Lucia Kings thrashed Nicholas Pooran’s Guyana Amazon Warriors in the thirteenth match of the ongoing edition of CPL 2021 to register their second win of the season.
Put into bat, St Lucia Kings lost both the openers – Andre Fletcher and skipper Faf du Plessis – cheaply but a blistering 85 off 50 deliveries from Roston Chase has helped them post a decent total of 149 runs on the board. In response, Guayana Amazon Warriors really couldn’t take off as the wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals. Barring skipper Nicholas Pooran 41 off 26 and Odean Smith 31 off 18, none of the Guayana Amazon Warriors batters managed to score in double-digit. Jeavor Royal was the pick of the bowler for St Lucia Kings returning for 3-19 whereas Roston Chase was adjudged man of the match for his 85 off 50 deliveries and 1-16.
“I was happy with my performance, I felt like I was hitting the ball well on a difficult surface, and we didn’t even talk during the break, but the guys really came out all guns blazing, so credit must go to the bowlers for the effort and the spinners came in to finish it off, “ said Romario Shephard the Player of the Match as quoted by Cricbuzz.
