Pakistan were in the chase needing 61 runs off the final four overs with Mohammed Rizwan settled after a half-century, with the likes of Khushdil Shah, Shadab Khan and Asif Ali for the fireworks. Sri Lanka then turned to Wanindu Hasaranga to turn the tide and he did so in some style, forcing a collapse that led to a win for his side.

Bowling the 17th over, Mohammed Rizwan was sent packing first ball as the Pakistan keeper holed out to Dhanushka Gunathilaka in the deep. Asif Ali was next as he was completely foxed by Hasaranga, losing his stumps in the process to record a golden duck. Asif has scored just six runs in 11 innings vs the Sri Lanka pinner, getting dismissed four times.

Next to depart was Khushdil Shah, who like Asif Ali went for the desperate slog, holding out to Maheesh Theekshana at short third man. In the space of one over, Pakistan went from 110/4 to 112/7, ending all hopes of their chase.
