Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad set to face lethal Aussie attack as Dress Rehearsal for Asian Games

Talented batter Ruturaj Gaikwad will be leading the young Indian side in the upcoming Asian Games in China.

Talented batter Ruturaj Gaikwad was named in India’s squad for the first two ODI games against Australia. To note, the mighty Aussies will take on the heavyweights India in a three-match series before the all-important. With the senior players given rest, Gaikwad might be given the responsibility to bat at the top of the order. It must be noted that Gaikwad will be leading a rather young side in the upcoming Asian Games 2023.

The men’s T20 cricket tournament will kick off on September 27 and conclude with the bronze and gold medal matches on October 7. The tournament will feature 15 teams, including top-seeded nations that will begin their journey from the quarter-finals. The remaining 11 teams will compete in the group stage, and the winners will join the top four in the quarter-finals.

It must be mentioned that the cricket tournament at the Asian Games 2023 is structured to include both group stages and direct entries to the quarter-finals. Teams have been categorized into four groups for the initial phase. India will be sending cricket teams for both the men’s and women’s categories for the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, with the event starting from September 19 and ending on October 7.

The women’s matches will begin first on September 19 and will conclude on September 26. The men’s matches will start from September 28 and conclude on October 7.
