Check out Shubman Gill’s viral handwritten New Year resolutions from 2023

The goals ranged from scoring the most centuries for India in 2023 to winning the 'Orange Cap' in the World Cup.

New Year resolutions are nothing new. People often take them at the crack of a new year and forget about them the next day. But not Shubman Gill. The Indian batter on Sunday shared a handwritten list of New Year resolutions he took in 2023 on social media. Although some of the resolutions on Gill’s note have not been fulfilled, but certainly not for lack of trying.

Shubman Gill on Sunday took to social media the glimpses of the goals he set for himself for 2023. The goals ranged from scoring the most centuries for India in 2023 to winning the ‘Orange Cap’ in the World Cup. The batter wrote a lengthy caption accompanying the picture, saying 2023 has been full of experiences, fun and learning.

Exactly a year ago, I put it out into the universe.
With 2023 coming to an end, the year has been full of experiences, some great fun and other great learnings.

“The end of the year didn’t go as planned, but I can proudly say we came ever so close to our goals, giving everything we had. The coming year brings its own challenges and opportunities.
Hopefully, we’ll get closer to our goals in 2024. I hope all of you find love, joy, and strength in everything you do,” Gill wrote.

Although some of the resolutions remained unfulfilled, Gill took some major steps in 2023 in the path of establishing himself as one of the mainstays of the Indian cricket team in all three formats. The right-handed batter started 2023 with a bang, scoring a double century against New Zealand, becoming the youngest player to achieve this milestone. In the course of the year, Gill scored 1584 runs at an average of over 60, including 6 centuries.
