Karun Nair is a player who can be picked to replace Shreyas Iyer in the KKR squad. Karun Nair had a base price of Rs. 50 lakh in IPL 2023 auction but wasn’t bought by any team. Nair has represented India in the past for a total of 6 Tests and 2 ODIs.
In his IPL career, he has played 76 matches in which he has scored 1171 runs at an average of 23.75. The right-handed batsman has made 10 fifties in his IPL career.
What goes against him is his poor run of form. He failed to shine in Gujarat Titans and even got dropped from Karnataka squads. However, the middle-order batter is raring for an opportunity and could be a success given a chance.
Priyam Garg
Priyam Garag was part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) squad in the IPL 2021 and didn’t get much to play. He was drafted into the team towards the end of the season and made most of the limited opportunity presented to him. He has been a prolific run-getter for his team in the domestic circuit. Considered as the best player of spin in Tamil Nadu, the right-hander could be the perfect fit for the KKR in place of Iyer. He knows the players at KKR as well as the management and he could find a way back.
