Fans were left asking the reason behind Shami’s tweet until a video surfaced on Twitter showing Akhtar’s comment on the India pacer after the team’s World Cup exit.
“India ko apni captaincy dekhni hogi. Management has to take the blame. Bowling department main confusing selection ke saath Shami ko uthake leke aaye achanak hi. Shami grabbed six wickets in six matches in T20 World Cup
Team India had an excellent start to their T20 World Cup campaign after they defeated the arch-rivals Pakistan in their opening encounter. The Men in Blue lost only one game in their group stage encounter against South Africa before reaching the Semi-final. In the knockout clash against England, team India suffered a big defeat by ten wickets and got knocked out of the competition.
As far as Shami is concerned, the right-arm pacer played six games and took the same number of wickets. However, he was quite costly during the Semi-final game as he gave away 39 runs and could not take any wickets.
