Shame he’s doing it against England: Jos Buttler hails Yashasvi Jaiswal after Rajkot heroics

Yashasvi Jaiswal slammed 214 off just 236 deliveries in IND vs ENG Rajkot Test for his second consecutive double ton.

Jos Buttler had seen him from the opposite end in IPL how devastating Yashasvi Jaiswal could be. And now, he is watching his Rajasthan Royal opening partner thrash his own team with consecutive double centuries. Buttler is in awe of Jaiswal after the youngster hammered a double ton in IND vs ENG Rajkot Test, helping India win by 434 runs.

Taking to Instagram, Jos Buttler said that Yashasvi Jaiswal is getting all the praises he deserves for his talent, work ethic and hunger.

“Shame he’s doing it against England but very hard not to be so happy for Yashasvi Jaiswal. Getting everything he deserves from his talent, hunger and work ethic. What a star!” Jos Buttler wrote.

Yashasvi Jaiswal: A star is born

With Shikhar Dhawan focusing on white ball cricket, India have been longing for a left-hander at the top order. The left-right combination is what India needed to dominate the first session. In Yashasvi Jaiswal that is what India have finally found.

He dominates with his array of shots: be it with a straight bat, cross bat or playing unorthodox shots. That he hammered James Anderson for three consecutive sixes is just a testament to his talent.

While he is still in his early days, Yashasvi Jaiswal has already slammed 861 runs in 13 innings, averaging 71.75. He already has three centuries and two half-centuries with 25 sixes, just one shy of the great Virat Kohli.
