Shakib al Hasan returns to PSL after 8 years, signs with Lahore Qalandars

Shakib al Hasan will be a part of PSL 10 as he has signed up with Lahore Qalandars for the remainder of the league

Bangladesh cricketer Shakib al Hasan has signed with Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Lahore Qalandars. The all-rounder, who has been out of action for nearly six months now, will link up with the franchise and will play the remainder of PSL 10. The tournament will restart on May 17 after it was temporarily suspended amid tensions between India and Pakistan.

Shakib returns to action in PSL

As per bdnews24.com, Shakib confirmed to the publication that he will be a part of PSL 10. This will be the all-rounder’s third stint in the league. Previously, Hasan played for Karachi Kings in 2016 and Peshawar Zalmi in 2017. His re-entry into PSL comes 8 years after his last stint.

Shakib will play alongside Bangladesh teammate Rishad Hossain in Lahore Qalandars. The team is currently fourth on the PSL 10 standings with 9 points from as many number of games.

Shakib last played in the Abu Dhabi T10 League for the Bangla Tigers. His last international appearance came in the Asia Cup in September. He did not take part in the Champions Trophy either.

Meanwhile, Shakib was reported by the standing umpire during a game for Surrey in the County Championship for suspected bowling action. After failing a reassessment test twice, he managed to clear it on the third occasion earlier in March and was allowed to bowl once again.
