As the New Year dawns, the cricket fervor in Patna, the capital of Bihar, is set to reach new heights with the commencement of the Ranji Trophy 2024 season. The iconic Moinul Haque Stadium will be the battleground for a four-day, four-match spectacle, featuring a stellar lineup of international cricket stars including Sanju Samson, Prithvi Shaw, and Ajinkya Rahane.

Indian cricket aficionados are in for a treat as the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ajinkya Rahane, Prithvi Shaw, and Sanju Samson will grace the Moinul Haque Stadium. These cricketing stars will unleash a barrage of fours and sixes that will resonate with the cricketing spirit.

Leading the charge for Bihar will be their captain, Ashutosh Aman, supported by talented players such as Bipin Saurabh, Babul Kumar, Shakibul Ghani, and Abhijeet Saket. Eager to make a mark against renowned players, the Bihar team is eyeing victories against formidable opponents like Mumbai, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, and Andhra Pradesh in the elite group.

Having earned their place in the elite group after triumphing in the plate key group last season, Bihar faces a challenging yet exciting prospect against a formidable lineup, including Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ajinkya Rahane, Prithvi Shaw, and Sanju Samson, alongside Tushar Deshpande, Vasil Thampi, Manohar Singh, Ricky Bhui, Jalaj Saxena, and Sachin Baby.

Moinul Haque Stadium to host Sanju Samson and others

To enhance the spectator experience, Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) has diligently prepared the Moinul Haque Stadium. Two pavilions, the JBG Pavilion and Old Pavilion, offer prime seating for cricket enthusiasts eager to witness the exhilarating clashes.

Sanjeev Kumar Mishra, Chief Spokesperson of BCA, emphasized the readiness of the stadium, providing not only a captivating view but also four practice wickets for the teams. With the familiarity of Bihar players with the Moinul Haque pitch, the home-ground advantage is expected to play a crucial role in their performance.

The anticipation is building as the BCCI pitch curator team is set to arrive in Patna on Friday. Their meticulous groundwork will pave the way for the Ranji matches, ensuring the ground and pitch are in optimal condition for the tournament’s kickoff on January 5. The inaugural clash between Bihar and Mumbai promises to set the stage for an exhilarating cricket season in Patna, where fours and sixes will echo the passion and prowess of the sport.
