Sanju Samson’s road to Recovery: Samson is making progress in his recuperation from a knee injury and could start playing cricket again shortly. Samson has been sidelined since suffering a knee injury in the opening T20I matchup against Sri Lanka earlier this month. Samson did not make the team for the series against New Zealand and he missed the last two T20Is.
Since the injury, Samson has been undergoing his rehabilitation at the NCA. Samson, who is now not a member of the ODI or Test sides, will most likely play for India after the IPL, but the other injured members of the squad will probably return for the Test series. The Test squad for the Australia series included Ravindra Jadeja, who had a 7-for performance in the Ranji Trophy and is expected to be fully recovered in time for the important series.
Samson will have more opportunities to show off his abilities now that Rishabh Pant will be out of the game for the foreseeable future, particularly in the T20 format. However, the untimely injury may hinder his chances of returning to the lineup, with players like Rahul Tripathi taking advantage of the playing spot.
