Sanju Samson headlines Kerala Cricket League 2025 Auction: When & where to watch

Sanju Samson will go under the hammer at Kerala Cricket League (KCL) auction on July 5.

The excitement for Kerala’s premier T20 tournament is back, and this time with a bigger buzz. The Kerala Cricket League (KCL) Season 2 auction is set to take place on Saturday, July 5, in Thiruvananthapuram as six franchises get ready to build their squads ahead of the new season, which kicks off from August 21 to September 6.

The biggest talking point ahead of the auction? Sanju Samson. The India star and Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain has officially thrown his name into the auction pool for the first time. Samson had served as a brand ambassador in the inaugural edition, but this year, he’s ready to take the field. Meanwhile, considering India’s next white-ball series against Bangladesh is on hold, Samson is likely to be available for the full KCL season.

Over 170 players have registered for the auction, divided into categories A, B, and C. The franchises will have a purse of Rs 50 lakh to build their teams. IPL players like Vishnu Vinod, Abdul Bazith, and Basil Thampi are also part of the auction pool.
