India Sania Mirza, a tennis icon, broke down in tears following her final Grand Slam match on Friday (January 27).
The Indian placed second at the Australian Open 2023 in her final Grand Slam match. Mirza said earlier this month that her professional tennis career would come to an end at the WTA 1000 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships in February.
After her final Major appearance, Sania got a surprise party from her husband, Shoaib Malik.

Sania Mirza posted on her Instagram account on January 29, 2023, about how her family and friends had thrown her a party as a surprise. Sania and her son Izhaan were cutting a cake in one of those images.
The mother and youngster were wearing matching blue attire. The moment Sania opened the door to her house, one can witness her startled reaction in the footage that follows.
Sania was spotted giving her friends hugs as she appeared to be speechless. She was accompanied by her husband, Shoaib Malik, who was holding a bouquet of flowers. Shoaib welcomed him home and offered him a hearty hug.

Sania added that it was the first time her family had surprised her. But she made no mention of Shoaib Malik. She penned:
“When you come home to this and realize you have the best friends and family in the world. My Dubai Fam Thank you guys Ps : For a change, I was actually surprised.”

The rumours of their impending divorce have been put to rest as of now thanks to Malik’s touching post for Sania. Malik stated that the 36-year-old is an inspiration to all sportswomen and that he is proud of what she has accomplished in her career.
