Ruturaj Gaikwad surpasses Kohli, goes 2nd on highest individual score by an Indian in T20Is

Team India young sensation Ruturaj Gaikwad smashed his first international century in the third IND vs AUS T20 played at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on November 28 (Tuesday). Ruturaj Gaikwad his hundred in 52 balls with a six off in the 20th over of the Indian innings. With this century, Ruturaj Gaikwad went past Virat Kohli to become the second highest scorer after Shubman Gill in T20Is.

It must be mentioned that Gaikwad’s highest score before today was just 71. Gaikwad made his international debut in 2021 as he also went on to become the first Indian to score a T20I century against the mighty Aussies. The right-hander now has five centuries in T20 cricket, which includes one in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Chennai Super Kings in the 2021 season. Gaikwad has also scored three hundreds in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 20-over domestic tournament for Maharashtra.
