The wicketkeeper batsman completed 1000 runs as Rajasthan Royals captain. In addition to this, Samson also overtook former Rajasthan Royals skipper Ajinkya Rahane as the leading run getter for the Royals in history of Indian Premier League.  He eventually got out for 42 runs off 25 balls. Sanju Samson who was handed the captaincy of Rajasthan Royals in 2021 has scored 3138 runs in in 118 matches which include 18 half centuries and two centuries.  Ajinkya Rahane is second with 3098 runs from 106 runs.  Shane Watson is third on the list with 2474 runs from 84 matches
