RR vs GT Live: It was supposed to be a Halla Bol show from the Rajasthan Royals batsmen on their home turf against the visiting Gujarat Titans on Friday. However, it was a complete flop show from the RR batsmen against a quality Gujarat Titans bowling line-up, combined with some poor shot selection and a couple of horrible run-outs. The result was that the Rajasthan Royals failed to bat out their complete 20 overs. This was after skipper Sanju Samson decided to bat first on what looked like a fresh surface, and putting runs on the board has always been the Royals’ biggest strength. Rajasthan was bundled out for 118 in 17.5 overs, with only four batsmen managing to enter double figures. Follow IPL 2023 Live Updates with InsideSport.IN.

RR vs GT Live: Rajasthan Royals registers their fourth lowest total at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur in IPL history. Gujarat Titans restrict Rajasthan to just 118 in Jaipur.

For the records, Rajasthan Royals registered their fourth lowest IPL total at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, since the inception of the IPL way back in 2008. Five out of the six Gujarat Titans’ bowlers bagged at least a wicket, with the magician Rashid Khan picking up three wickets in the game, in addition to inflicting the run-out of in-form Rajasthan opener Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Rajasthan Royals’ lowest total at the SMS in Jaipur is 95 runs. The shameful batting effort came against Mumbai Indians in April 2011, where the hosts were bundled out for just 95 runs in 18.1 overs. Their second worst performance came against Chennai Super Kings in the inaugural season of the IPL in 2008. CSK bundled out the Royals for just 110 runs in 14.2 overs.

On Friday, at the Pink City, Rajasthan Royals batsmen fell like a pack of cards, and after a strong start inside the powerplay, could never recover. The team was placed at 47/1 at the end of five overs, was bundled out for 118 and wasn’t good enough to even bats its complete quota of 20 overs.

Was it sensational bowling or poor batting? Rajasthan Royals batsmen certainly have a lot of deep thinking to do, for the rest of the league matches.
