Their top order fired with Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson all getting half-centuries. Trent Boult and Yuzvendra Chahal were at their lethal best, while Ravichandran Ashwin also bowled a tight spell.
KM Asif, the Kerala-born ex-CSK pacer, was also impressive on his debut and is set to continue. Navdeep Saini was brought on as an impact sub but struggled to make his mark. Saini bowled multiple no-balls and was taken part by Abdul Samad and Umran Malik in his second over.
With Saini struggling, Rajasthan Royals could turn to Kuldeep Sen who debuted for them last year. The MP pacer hits the deck hard and bowls at a fair clip. Should the ball seam around, Sandeep Sharma could also be an option up top in the powerplay.
