Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli to play intra-squad match ahead of IND vs SA Test series

Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are a part of the intra-squad game before we will play in the IND vs SA Test series starting on Dec 26.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma alongside senior batter Virat Kohli will participate in the intra-squad match ahead of the upcoming IND vs SA Test series. To note, team India will visit South Africa to participate in a multi-format series. Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are not part of the T20I and ODI series. However, the senior duo will participate in the two-match Test series starting from December 26 (Tuesday) onwards.

Rohit Sharma-Kohli requested a break: BCCI

“Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli had requested the board for a break from the white-ball leg of the tour,” BCCI said in a statement. In Rohit Sharma’s absence, Suryakumar Yadav will lead the side in the three-match T20I series beginning in Durban on December 10. On the other hand, wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul will take charge for the three ODIs that follow before Rohit and Kohli return for the two-test series. Meanwhile, the first IND vs SA Test match will be played from December 26 (Tuesday) onwards.
