Rohit Sharma turns up as batting coach for Siraj & Kuldeep in Rajkot

Ahead of third IND vs ENG Test, Rohit Sharma turned out as the batting coach for Mohd Siraj & Kuldeep Yadav in Rajkot nets.

With the IND vs ENG Test series locked in at 1-1, India Cricket Team need something special to counter England’s Bazball. However, India’s batting, especially middle and lower order has been disappointing, to say the least. Only opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and No 3 Shubman Gill have scored centuries. As lower-order batting has become an important aspect in Test cricket, skipper Rohit Sharma turned out as a coach to give some batting lessons to pacer Mohammed Siraj.

Siraj rejoined India squad after a break from the 2nd Test. With a 15-day rest complete, he is now expected to team up with Jasprit Bumrah in the IND vs ENG 3rd Test.

However, considering India’s lacklustre batting so far, Siraj may need to pad up and score 20-30 runs. Hence, after going at full tilt with the new ball at the nets, he padded up to face the net bowlers.

And if one is trying to improve on his batting, there is no one better coach than Rohit Sharma. The skipper took the onus on him and gave Siraj some tips ahead of IND vs ENG 3rd Test.

Rohit Sharma gave him a masterclass on ideal head position while batting. And then he let Siraj face some throwdowns from net bowlers.

The India skipper went on to rectify his mistakes. He even demonstrated some of the stance taking a helmet. Rohit explained why the head positions matter. As per News18, he went on to give him a lesson on the importance of head positions and what would happen if the head falls on either side while facing a delivery.

However, it wasn’t just Mohd Siraj. Kuldeep Yadav also joined Rohit’s masterclass. And once the class was over, Rohit along with head coach Rahul Dravid observed their batting at the nets.
