Rohit Sharma-led Team India arrives in Canberra for BGT warm-up match sans coach Gautam Gambhir

India's warm-up game against Prime Ministers XI will be a two-day affair, on November 30 and December 1.

Buoyed over their historic win in the opening BGT Test in Perth, Team India have landed in the capital city of Australia, Canberra. While it was Jasprit Bumrah, who led the team fantastically well to India’s iconic 295-run win, Rohit Sharma has joined the team. In fact, he was at the fore front when India arrived in Canberra for their two-day warm-up game. Notably, Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir was missing as he is currently in New Delhi after taking a leave due to family emergency.

As per journalist Vimal Kumar, who was at the Canberra airport, India’s flight arrived a bit late. Regardless, all the Indian players clicked photos and entertained the Indian fans before sitting on the team bus. Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Washington Sundar, Ravindra Jadeja were all seen in the video. Incredibly, Shubman Gill was also seen. Gill missed the first Test due to a potential fracture on his left thumb.

In the absence of coach Gautam Gambhir, India’s support staff will take charge of coaching duties during the two-day tour game in Canberra. Assistant coaches Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate, bowling coach Morne Morkel, and fielding coach T. Dilip will oversee the team’s preparations. Meanwhile, regular captain Rohit Sharma will return to the team after missing the first Test, and will resume captaincy duties from Jasprit Bumrah, who became the first captain to beat Australia in Tests at the Optus Stadium.
