The Pakistan cricket team received a major shot in the arm as fast bowler Mohammad Amir was finally issued a visa by the Irish consulate on Thursday, albeit after a lot of delay. Now Amir is most likely to join the team before the second T20I vs Ireland in Dublin on May 12.
As per the series schedule that begins on May 10, the first three matches will be played in Dublin, at the Clontarf Cricket Club. Meanwhile, a PCB source also confirmed the same, and added that travel arrangements for Amir are in progress.

Mohammad Amir Granted Ireland Visa
While the entire squad left for Ireland on May 7, and is scheduled to play the first match on May 10, Amir is still in Lahore. After a lot of delay, finally the left-arm pacer was issued the visa, after the intervention of the PCB. The reason for the delay by the Irish consulate is still not known, but a source in the know has claimed that it was due to technical issue.
“Obviously, the PCB was unhappy with the visa delay as it affects the team management plans for the (T20) World Cup and also has a bearing on the affected player who has returned from retirement to international cricket after four years,” the source said.
