As per ESPNCricinfo, Hazlewood will sit out for another game before returning for action. Hazlewood has been out of action for the past four months and only joined the RCB squad mid-April. He has since begun bowling and is closely working with the Cricket Australia and RCB staff to get back to his best.
It is understood that Hazlewood still has a couple of things to tick off before a return to the field. He is yet to receive a green light from CA to get into match mode. It is important to note Cricket Australia are likely to be cautious given the World Test Championship final on June 7. The WTC Final is followed by the Ashes 2023 and Australia would want their premier pacer in top condition.
Hazlewood’s presence in the RCB bowling is a massive boost as they look to sort out their death bowling issues. While Willey has impressed, Hazlewood could help to form a formidable bowling combination with Mohammed Siraj and sort out their bowling woes. The Australian picked up 20 wickets in 12 matches at an economy rate of 8 runs per over last season.
