In a video uploaded by Chennai Super Kings, the RCB skipper was seen hugging his ex-teammates and support staff. One of the cutest moment in that video was when Du Plessis ran like a child and hugged CSK’s head coach Stephen Fleming. He was also seem imitating CSK skipper Ravindra Jadeja’s sword celebration.
Apart from Du Plessis, it was also a reunion of sorts for Australian pace bowler Josh Hazlewood and leg-spinner Karn Sharma, who were with the defending champions last year. Both the players were also seen exchanging pleasantries.
Faf Du Plessis, who was the second-highest run-scorer of the season last year, played a pivotal role for CSK in their title-winning campaign. He was however not retained by the franchise and at the auction, RCB snapped up the South African for 7 crores and appointed him as the skipper.
As a captain he has done well so far as his team three out of their four games so far. They are at the third spot in the points table. Meanwhile, CSK under Ravindra Jadeja got off to a disastrous start with four losses in four games. Both the teams will be playing at Navi Mumbai on 12th April, Tuesday.
