The all-rounder is recovering from knee surgery. A call on him will be taken after an injury assessment. Beginning in January, a three-match T20I and three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka will kick off India’s 2022–23 domestic international season. This will also mark the start of the new white-ball era for Men in Blue.
Jadeja is out of action since Asia Cup 2022. Jadeja returned from Asia Cup after the first two games following a freak injury in off-day training exercise. He underwent knee surgery in Mumbai. While the selectors named him in the Bangladesh Tour, he could not recover in time.
Now, Jadeja has reported back to NCA to resume his full training. On Tuesday (December 20), all rounder posted a video on Instagram with the location tagged as Bengaluru, India.
“Jaddu will report back to the NCA in next couple of weeks. He wasn’t fully fit for Bangladesh series. Once he resumes full training, we will know where he stands. The physios will assess his injury and take a call on his return. At the moment, it is difficult to say whether he will be able to return for SriLanka or NewZealand series. But we are certain, he will be available for the Australia series,” the BCCI official had told InsideSport earlier.

It is unlikely that Jadeja will feature in the T20 series vs SL. With a priority on ODIs next year, Jadeja is expected to play the 50-over format vs SriLanka. Selectors instead will try domestic sars out in the T20s as India T20 Reboot comes into full effect next month.
