Ranji Trophy: Sarfaraz’s brother Musheer slams maiden double ton in quarters vs Baroda

Musheer Khan, in the previous three FC games played for Mumbai, had scored 96 runs in all, with two wickets to his name.

While Sarfaraz Khan is impressing with his performances in the IND vs ENG Test series, where he made his debut, his younger brother Musheer Khan is shining in the Ranji Trophy. After setting the U-19 World Cup on fire, where he was the second-highest run-scorer (360 runs in 7 innings), Musheer has continued the form in Ranji for Mumbai as well.

Playing only in his fourth first-class match, that too his first in over a year, Musheer had slammed his maiden ton in the quarters against Baroda on day one of the encounter. Then on Saturday, he continued his superlative form, and secured his double hundred as well, putting his team in a position of strength.

What was noteworthy about his innings was, that he didn’t take many risks, and slammed 18 boundaries, and relied on running hard between the wickets.

Mumbai vs Baroda, Ranji Trophy

As far as the match is concerned, Mumbai were bundled out for 384, with Musheer remaining not out on 203. Only Hardik Tamore crossed the fifty-run mark, apart from the former, and was out for 57. Mumbai, from here on would look for a sizable lead.
