Ranji Trophy 2025 Format and Rules

The Ranji Trophy 2025 features a league-based structure, divided into Elite Groups A, B, C, and D. Teams compete in round-robin matches within their groups, with top performers advancing to the knockout rounds, including quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the final.

Played over four days under first-class cricket rules, each match allows teams two innings and can end in a win, loss, draw, or tie. Points are awarded based on results, with outright wins earning the most. In case of draws, bonus points are granted for first-innings leads. Teams with the highest points progress to the next stage.

The tournament concludes with a final where the best two teams compete for the coveted Ranji Trophy. This competition serves as a crucial platform for domestic players to display their talent and stake their claim for higher honors.
