Ranji Trophy 2024: Bhuvneshwar Kumar bags 8-wicket haul for UP on his First Class return after 6 years

Bhuvneshwar Kumar played a First-Class match after a long haul of six years.

Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar made an excellent return in Ranji Trophy after a long haul of 6 six years. Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up a 8-wicket haul for Uttar Pradesh against Bengal in the ongoing Ranji Trophy match.

To note, Bhuvneshwar had already finished with a fifer on day 1 of the match and added 3 more to his tally on Saturday. It was also his 13th five-wicket haul in the first-class circuit, keeping Bengal in a nip and tuck contest. The veteran bowler’s victims on day 1 were Sourav Paul (13), Sudip Kumar Gharami (0), Anustup Majumdar (12), Manoj Tiwary (3) and Abishek Porel (12).

Bhuvneshwar’s victims on day 2 were Shreyansh Ghosh (41), Pradipta Pramanik (1) and Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal (20), completing 8 wickets in 22 overs. Thanks to his efforts with the ball, UP has managed to make a decent comeback in the match. Uttar Pradesh are trailing by 82 runs in their second innings against Bengal. However, they still have their all ten wickets in the bank and will look to make a strong comeback on Day 3 of the Ranji Trophy 2024 match.
