Ranji Trophy: Yashasvi Jaiswal has been excellent in the match against Rajasthan, but Mumbai has continued to struggle.

The day three of round three of the Ranji Trophy concluded on Monday at various locations, and once again there were a few standout performances in those encounters. Slowly but surely, teams are moving towards wins, in the round that only has one more day to go. InsideSport tracks the highlights of most notable performances of the day.

Fast-bowling all-rounder Nachiket Bhute impressive vs TN

Tamil Nadu are in a spot of bother against Vidarbha in their encounter in Coimbatore. Tamil Nadu batted first where they scored only 291, and pacer Nachiket Bhute returned with figures 5/65. Then in Vidarbha’s turn to bat, he scored 51 not out, as the team smashed 501 runs. For now, the team leads by 204 runs.

Pondicherry stun Delhi with sizeable lead

Who could have thought, that a team like Delhi would struggle against Pondicherry, that too at home. But that is exactly what has happened, as the visitors first bowled out Delhi for 294, and then scored 481 runs, taking a first innings lead. At stumps, Delhi trail by 111 runs, with only a day to go, getting a win for them is nearly impossible.

Yashasvi Jaiswal shows form, but Mumbai struggles continue

This has been a round where traditional powerhouses seem to be struggling. Mumbai is one of those teams. After being bundled out for 254 in the first innings, Rajasthan posted a mammoth 617/6. Deepak Hooda slammed a double ton; But the highlight for Mumbai is, that opener Yashasvi Jaiswal is 56 not out, and in the first innings had scored 67.

Mohammed Shami wicketless vs Tripura

After bagging 15 wickets in the first two matches of this Ranji season, Shami came up with a forgettable performance as he could not pick up a wicket against Tripura. In 19 overs, he has given away 70 runs, without any wicket. Bengal scored 336 in the first innings, while Tripura is 273/7 for now.
