Rajasthan Royals are eyeing a long-term future with Jos Buttler. The 2008 champions are set to offer the England captain a lucrative four-year deal. Buttler, who has a remarkable record for the franchise, also represents the Paarl Royals in the SA20.

It is believed that the deal with Buttler has not yet been formally presented, and it is unknown if the T20 World Cup champion captain will accept it. Although the precise amount is uncertain, considering his earning potential in the competition, it would be worth crores annually. Buttler was retained in IPL 2022 for a price of Rs 10 crore.

Buttler has been part of the Rajasthan Royals set-up since 2018. He has a remarkable record for Rajasthan, with five centuries and 18 fifties in 71 matches.

Should the deal be completed, it remains to be seen how the same is navigated through the IPL Auction process. Buttler would most likely be guaranteed retention when the mega auction returns after IPL 2025.

England players are particularly in demand, given the white-ball revolution that saw them lift the 2019 World Cup and 2022 T20 World Cup. Jason Roy recently cancelled his deal with ECB to play in the MLC. Moeen Ali is expected to do so with Texas Super Kings next year.

Jofra Archer was reportedly in talks with the Mumbai Indians about a deal that would require his team’s approval to represent England, according to The Daily Mail.
