While many might know that Rachin’s name is a mix of Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid, what the fans might not know is his Bengaluru roots. His father Ravi Krishnamurthy played club cricket in Bengaluru before moving to New Zealand. Not just that, even Rachin would fly to play club cricket in Bengaluru.

Earlier in the tournament, he had opened up about his name and Bengaluru roots. Talking to PTI, he had said, “I was born in New Zealand and my family’s from India, but I completely see myself as a Kiwi and obviously very proud of my roots and my ethnicity.”

“I have a sense of family connection whenever I’m in Bangalore. Being able to see my grandparents and stuff, so yeah, it’s pretty cool,” he added.
