With the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 set to start next month in Pakistan, the Punjab Police have rolled out extensive security arrangements, according to a report by Pakistani media. To ensure a safe environment for the event, a total of 12,564 police officers and personnel will be deployed across key locations in Lahore and Rawalpindi.
Massive police presence in Lahore and Rawalpindi
In Lahore, a force of 7,618 officers will be on the ground to maintain safety during the matches, while Rawalpindi will see 4,535 personnel managing security. Alongside them, 411 Special Branch officers will be involved to bolster security measures further. Support from the Pakistan Army and Rangers will be employed for aerial monitoring to enhance surveillance.
State guest status for players
Police officials have assured that all participating players will be given state guest status, highlighting the importance of their safety. Ensuring the players’ security is a top priority, with dedicated measures put in place to prevent any potential issues.

High-tech surveillance and group details
The Safe City cameras will be used to keep an eye on routes to the venues, providing real-time surveillance to address any concerns immediately. As the authorities finalise arrangements ahead of the event, the tournament will feature eight teams playing 15 matches from February 19 to March 9 at three venues: Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Dubai.
Group A includes Pakistan, India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh, while Group B consists of Afghanistan, South Africa, England, and Australia. Hosts Pakistan will face New Zealand in the opening match on February 19 in Karachi, with the highly anticipated Pakistan-India match scheduled for February 23 in Dubai.
