Quetta Gladiators bolster coaching staff with Shaun Tait as bowling coach

Tait's prior role as Pakistan's fast bowling coach earlier this year provides him with valuable insights into the strengths and areas for improvement of the bowlers he will now mentor.

Quetta Gladiators have enlisted the expertise of former Australian speedster Shaun Tait as their bowling coach for the upcoming ninth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). This announcement follows the recent appointment of Shane Watson as the head coach of the team.

This is a strategic move of Quetta to strengthen their coaching staff.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity, Shaun Tait conveyed his appreciation to Nadeem Omar, the owner of Quetta Gladiators, for entrusting him with the responsibility of overseeing the bowling unit, which includes promising talents such as Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, and Mohammad Amir.

Tait‘s prior role as Pakistan’s fast bowling coach earlier this year provides him with valuable insights into the strengths and areas for improvement of the bowlers he will now mentor. Notably, during his tenure, Tait emphasized the challenges of maintaining high workloads for express pace bowlers across all three formats of the game.

Having worked closely with Hasnain, who is currently recovering from an ankle injury, Tait praised the young bowler’s ability to generate genuine pace. He emphasized the importance of harnessing Hasnain’s athleticism and instilling a fierce and determined approach to his bowling.

This coaching reshuffle underscores Quetta Gladiators’ commitment to revitalizing their team after facing playoff misses in the past four seasons. The franchise, once a powerhouse in the early editions of the PSL, aims to regain its winning form under the guidance of the revamped coaching staff.

Shaun Tait’s appointment adds a wealth of experience to Quetta Gladiators as they prepare for the upcoming PSL season, scheduled to kick off on February 8 and conclude on March 24. The Gladiators’ fans eagerly anticipate a reinvigorated performance under the new coaching regime.
